Hi! I’m Akosua Adobea-Wiredu, an aspiring neurologist passionate about neuroscience, medicine, leadership, and community impact. This fall, I will be attending the Sophie Davis Biomedical Education Program to pursue a BS/MD pathway in Neuroscience Premed as I work toward becoming a doctor specializing in neurology. Throughout high school, I explored my interest in the brain and human behavior through my school’s Science Research Program, where I conducted research on the ethics of neurocriminology and competed in multiple research competitions. Beyond academics, I have been actively involved in student leadership, serving as Secretary and Treasurer on my class board while also contributing to school-wide initiatives through Student Wellness, Upstanders, and Peer Leadership programs. I also served as Co-Captain of my school’s dance team and founded our Black American Culture Club to create a space that celebrated culture, encouraged dialogue, and strengthened community within our school. With the support of tutoring and mentorship, I was able to grow both academically and personally, which is why I highly recommend Park Tutoring.
